Advocate Harbour, on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia, is a best kept secret for outdoor lovers.
Hike or kayak in Cape Chignecto‘s wilderness park, boat with us to some of the most awe-inspiring places in the Maritimes or watch the impressive tidal rips in the Bay of Fundy from the cliffs at Cape d’Or.
Witness the tide lift the “stranded” boats in Advocate Harbour or stroll along the dyke to the mile long Driftwood Beach.

Beaches waiting to be walked:
Driftwood Beach, Advocate
Chignecto Beach, West Advocate by the park
Horseshoe Cove, on the road to Cape d’Or
Spencer’s Island Beach at Spencer’s Island
Spicer’s Cove near Eatonville & the Three Sisters
Other special places we love:
Cape d’Or: Scenic lighthouse on dramatic volcanic rocks by the Bay of Fundy – great place to watch rip tides two hours before high tide. Advocate Harbour: Active home port for lobster & scallop fleet. Boats sit on the sand bottom at low tide and the fishermen only have around 2-3 hours window at high tide to get in or out. The old dyke: Walk on the old dyke from United Church in Advocate to the Driftwood Beach. On a low tide it’s particularly interesting to continue along the salt water march to the natural harbour entrance, where huge gravel mounts speak of the Fundy’s tidal force.
